Congrats to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova for winning the Oscar for Best Music (Song) last night for their song "Falling Slowly" from the movie 'Once.' That was awesome...I love that cd.
Loren, for what it's worth, I don't classify the movie as one of the best ever made, either, but I was able to enjoy her dragging the Hoover through town, and to appreciate the redeeming quality of her choosing to work on her marriage...and I thought it did a good job of showing how sometimes the missing link between street musician and gifted recording artist is a good woman there to kick you in the butt and get things started.
Yes, I'll admit the Hoover thing was funny. And every guy needs a good woman ...
loved the movie, loved the soundtrack. i was so happy that they won.
can you believe that they made that movie on $100,000 and within 3 weeks? crazy!
i was sad that Marketa didn't get to speak, though. :-{
Erin - Jon Stewart brought her back out later though...she got her chance : )
